Features

  • Six teaching staff members with significant experience in teaching and research. Two of them are pursuing postdoctoral research work and publishing research articles in reputed journals.
  • Significant contributions have been made in research in the areas of Optics, Forensic Physics, Solid State Physics, X-ray crystallography, Environmental radiation and Mossbauer studies.
  • The Optics Dark Room Laboratory is well arranged with Sodium and Mercury light sources and lasers. A number of experiments can be performed with the available equipment which includes Spectrometers, Optical meters and Traveling microscopes. The constant deviation spectroscope and Laser equipment can also be utilized for research. An experiment on solar cell characteristics can also be arranged.
  • The general laboratory has a variety of experimental setups in fields of Heat, Sound and Properties of matter and Modern Physics with which about 15 experiments can be performed. Experiments include Determination of Moment of Inertia, Acceleration due to gravity, Frequency of a vibrating bar, Mechanical equivalent of heat, Verification of Laws of stretched strings, Thermal conductivity of poor and good conductors, Charge of an electron, Specific charge of an electron, Characteristics of P-n junction and Thermistor and forbidden energy gap of semiconductor, etc.
